Festival Volunteer FAQs

The weather in San Francisco will be mild. We advise you to layer your clothing.
You’ll receive the Nihonmachi Street Fair’s Volunteer T-shirt. We ask that you not wear jackets over it. It’s important that NSF Staff can easily identify our volunteers.
Instead wear a long sleeve t-shirt/sweatshirt underneath to stay warm.
The Nihonmachi Street Fair is a Zero Waste event. We're minimizing waste by using reusable items and encouraging everyone to participate in recycling and composting.
Bring your own reusable water bottle/containers. NSF will not be giving out water bottles at the event.
Water bottles can be refilled at our Water Station.
-
Parking at the Fair will be difficult. We recommend that our volunteers either take public transporation (MUNI lines 38 Geary & 2 Sutter have stops in Japantown) or take a rideshare (drop off at 1800 Sutter).
Don’t forget all meters are enforced on Saturday. -
Our Volunteer coordinator Kristen Boyd will be emailing volunteers who have signed up. Once you receive it please reply back as soon as possible to confirm.
Please arrive on time for your shift.
